Radford Hosts Gardner-Webb Final Regular Season Home Games

RADFORD, Va. – After two postponements, the Radford men's basketball team will finally host Gardner-Webb on Wednesday and Thursday night inside the Dedmon Center. Tip-off for both games are set for 6 p.m.

Radford (13-9, 12-4 Big South) looks to get back on track after two losses against Winthrop last time out.

Fah'Mir Ali leads the team with 10.5 points per game and scored a combined 37 points against the Eagles. He has 11.0 points per game during conference play.

Chyree Walker has logged seven games with 10 or more rebounds. He leads the league with 8.0 boards per game and has 8.4 rebounds per contest in conference play. Dravon Mangum has 11.8 points in conference games, leading the team.

Two players will be honored prior to Thursday's game in Jordan Hemphill and Bryan Hart for playing their potential final regular season games inside the Dedmon Center.

In their last outing, Jaheam Cornwall notched a career-high 38 points for the Runnin' Bulldogs but it came in a 78-71 loss to Longwood. The loss pushes GWU's losing streak to three games and the Runnin' Bulldogs have lost five of their last seven contests. All of the team's five losses during the streak have been within a 10-point margin.

Gardner-Webb (8-14, 7-10 Big South) is averaging 71.1 points per game and holding opponents to 70.5. As a team, GWU is shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and allowing opponents to shoot 42.1 percent. From long range, the team is second in the league with a 35.9 3-point percentage and leads the Big South with 9.1 3-pointers made per game. The Runnin' Bulldogs also rank second in the conference in field goal percentage defense at 42.1.

Cornwall and D'Maurian Williams are two of the conference's top 15 scorers. Cornwall's 14.0 points per game ranks eighth and Williams' 11.5 is 15th. Cornwall also ranks third in the league in assists with four a game.

This will be the 25th and 26th meetings between the two schools. Radford trails in the all-time series, 11-13. At home, the Highlanders have a 5-7 record against the Runnin' Bulldogs, but away from the Dedmon Center the Highlanders have a 6-5 edge. Radford has won three of the last five meetings.

With a win on Wednesday or Thursday, Mike Jones will earn his 100th career Big South victory.

Wednesday's and Thursday's game can be seen on ESPN+, and both contests can be heard on WRAD 101.7 FM or WVRU 89.9 FM.
