Women’s Soccer Falls Victim to Late Goal in Loss to Presbyterian

CLINTON, S.C. – A late goal was the difference for the Radford women's soccer team in a 1-0 loss to Presbyterian on Sunday afternoon in Clinton, S.C.

Despite leading in shots, 14-10, the Blue Hose were the ones to find the back of the net for the game's only goal and it came in the 83'. Kori Lawrence took a shot that was blocked by a defender but it bounced right back to her and she followed up for the game-winning goal.

The Highlanders were unable to take a shot in the final seven minutes of play. Radford had six shots in the game in the first half and Lily McLane led with two of them. The Highlanders were even able to get five corners and held Presbyterian to none.

Radford was called for offsides eight times throughout the game. McLane led the way with four shots – two on goal and Katie Oliver was the other player to land one on target. Freshman Helena Willson notched two shots in 36 minutes of play.

Quotable
"Lots of credit to Presbyterian," Ben Sohrabi said. "They played extremely hard and deserved the win. Of course, we're disappointed but we need to learn from this and improve going forward."
