Highlanders Cruise Through Road Opener

Greensboro, N.C. – Radford kept the success rolling from the previous week into a strong 6-1 victory over UNC Greensboro Monday afternoon.

In doubles play the Highlanders were strong as ever with easy wins on courts two and three. Aditya Balsekar teamed up with Konstantinos Raptis for the first time this season, and the duo won convincingly 6-2 on court three. Demis Taramonlis and Andres Silva partnered for the first time in 2021, with the duo missing zero steps from their dominance in 2020 with a quick 6-2 victory on court two. Yevhen Sirous and Guilherme Severin were leading 5-2 on court one before Radford clinched the doubles point.

Silva was the first Highlander to finish in singles play, making a strong start to his 2021 campaign with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court five. Raptis finished next on court four winning 6-4, 6-4 to give Radford the 3-0 lead. After dropping court six, Radford rebounded and clinched the match thanks to Taramonlis who took court one 6-4, 6-4. To finish the day Sirous won on court two 6-3, 7-5 and Severin won on court three 6-1, 5-7, 10-5.
