Radford Comes Up Short in Close Match

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (4-5) lost a close match at home against William & Mary (4-4) Sunday afternoon.

The doubles point was highly contested in this match, after the Tribe took court three it left courts one and two a must-have for Radford. Yevhen Sirous and Guilherme Severin were in a 6-6 tie on court one but stopped as the point had been won on court two.
 
In singles play the Highlanders stormed back to a 2-1 lead thanks to victories on courts four and two. Konstantinos Raptis was the first to finish on court four with a come from behind 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory. Demis Taramonlis also notched his sixth singles victory of the season with a 7-5, 6-2 win on court two.
 
William & Mary responded though and took the next three courts to seal the match. Aditya Balsekar added a victory on court six for Radford in straight sets 7-6(3), 7-5.

Up Next
Radford will stick to the home courts for another match within their region against James Madison on Wednesday.
