Brianna Oliver’s Hat Trick Carries Radford Past USC Upstate

RADFORD, Va. – A season-high 26 shots were taken and six found the back of the net as Brianna Oliver and the Radford women's soccer team knocked off USC Upstate, 6-0, on Wednesday night at Cupp Stadium.
 
Brianna Oliver led Radford (5-1-1, 4-1-1 Big South) with a career-high three goals. It's the first hat trick since Oct. 13, 2018 when Jasmine Casarez notched three goals against the same opponent in USC Upstate. It's also Oliver's first career multi-goal game.
 
Gabi Paupst opened the scoring for Radford in the ninth minute and Oliver tacked on two more before the 21st minute. Her first one came in the 17' and the second came just three minutes later in the 20'.
 
Radford took 15 of its 26 shots in the first half and held USC Upstate to one.
 
Oliver notched her second goal of the game in the 60' when Katie Oliver found her for the score. Skyler Prosser notched her first goal as a Highlander in the 74' and Maevyn Jones put the icing on the cake with a goal in the 83'.
 
B. Oliver and Jones led with five shots and three goals. Alexeis Kirnos, Saleena Lynch, Ashley Pandelides and Lily McLane joined K. Oliver with assists. The defense held the Spartans to just three total shots and notched its fourth straight clean sheet.
 
Up Next
Radford will host High Point on Sunday in a matchup of the top two teams in the Big South Conference. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
