JOHNSON CITY, N.C. – After trailing 2-0, the Highlanders battled back to make the match 3-2 and came up just short in a 4-3 loss Tuesday afternoon.
Radford did most of its work on the day in singles play after dropping the doubles point. The Highlanders battled hard and came close to winning the four courts they needed.
Aditya Balsekar was the first victorious Highlander on court six with a 6-4, 6-3 win. After dropping his first set,
Konstantinos Raptis rebounded and won his next two sets to take court four 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.
With the match at 3-2, ETSU clinched after a long battle on court two.
Demis Taramonlis dropped his first set but fought back and won his second set. It took a tiebreaker in the third set to decide the court and the match with ETSU ultimately claiming victory. To end the day
Yevhen Sirous joined Raptis in bouncing back after a tough to start to win court one 2-6, 7-6, 7-5.
