Radford Sweeps Longwood on Cold Thursday Afternoon

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Radford (7-6, 3-1 BSC) went indoors for its third Big South victory against Longwood (5-7, 0-3 BSC) Thursday afternoon.

Radford dominated early and carried that success throughout the afternoon. The 7-0 sweep began with the doubles point where Radford won the top two courts to take a 1-0 lead. Yevhen Sirous and Guilherme Severin were the first to finish with a 6-2 win on court one. Demis Taramonlis and Andres Silva clinched the doubles point with their win on court two 6-4. Konstantinos Raptis and Aditya Balsekar were leading 4-3 on court three before play stopped with the clinch.

Next up was singles play where Sirous picked up where he left off in doubles with a quick 6-3, 6-0 win on court one. Taramonlis made it a 3-0 game with his win in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 on court two. Severin was the clinching court today with his three-set win on court three 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
 
Radford still kept the wins coming with the match already clinched. Silva won easily on court five while Balsekar picked up his tenth straight singles victory on court six. Ending the day and completing the sweep was Raptis who came back to win on court four 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-4.
