Radford Dominates Presbyterian in Big South Finale

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (8-6, 4-1 BSC) breezed through Presbyterian (8-6, 2-3 BSC) Saturday afternoon to the tune of a 6-1 win.

The success started in the doubles point where Radford took both courts one and two to claim a 1-0 lead. Demis Taramonlis and Andres Silva won 6-3 on court two while Yevhen Sirous and Guilherme Severin clinched on court one 6-4. Aditya Balsekar and Konstantinos Raptis were tied 4-all on court three but went unfinished.

In singles play Radford would take two more courts before Presbyterian could respond. Silva was the first to finish on court five winning 6-4, 6-4. Sirous made the lead 3-0 with his win on court one 6-3, 6-2. Presbyterian took court four, though, to make a 3-1 game.

Radford would get the clinch from the reigning Big South freshman of the week Balsekar once again today as he won in straight sets 7-6(5), 6-2 on court six. Taramonlis added a 6-2, 7-6(11) win on court two while Severin held on to win on court three 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 to wrap up the claimed courts on the day.
 
Balsekar will finish regular season play unbeaten against Big South competition, 5-0. Raptis, Severin, and Silva all also finished with 4-1 records in the conference. For doubles play the duo of Silva and Taramonlis finished perfect in conference play, 5-0, with Severin and Sirous also going 4-1.

Up Next
The conference slate is finished for Radford, but they will have three nonconference matches next before heading to Charlotte, N.C. for the Big South tournament.
