SERIES HISTORY
As founding members of the Big South, the Highlanders and Buccaneers have a historic rivalry dating back to 1987. The two programs have met a whopping 77 times with Radford owning the series edge 58-19. The Highlanders have won the last nine straight meetings with three of those victories coming in overtime.

During the 2020-21 season, the Highlanders and Buccaneers met twice inside the Dedmon Center with Radford pulling out exciting victories in both games. Radford won the first meeting 74-73 thanks to a Kyanna Morgan buzzer beater that gave head coach Mike McGuire his 100th Big South victory. Radford again won the second meeting 76-67 in overtime thanks to some heroic scoring by Ashley Tudor, Destinee Marshall and Danielle Montelbano.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
The young Buccaneers seem to have found their footing in conference play after a brutal 0-11 start to the season. Charleston Southern picked up a big conference victory this past weekend over USC Upstate, their first win on the home court this season and second overall.

Redshirt senior Alyssia Faye leads the team offensively and on the boards with 8.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The team has struggled from the free throw line so far this season shooting just 63%, which may be something to keep an eye on in a closer game.

EVERYBODY'S PITCHING IN
Radford traveled with a small roster of just eight players last weekend at Campbell and gave the Big South leaders a fight. All eight players recorded 10 or more minutes of playing time and all eight players scored and pulled down a rebound. The Highlanders continue to utilize just about every player on the team with 11 players averaging over ten minutes per game.

PULLING DOWN THE REBOUNDS
Radford is finding some rhythm on the boards as of late. The team out-rebounded Campbell last weekend 39-32 and took it to a Camels team that was leading the Big South in just about every defensive category. Rachel LaLonde is the team's top rebounder with 5.7 a game, but don't sleep on Ashley Tudor, Vanessa Blake, Kyanna Morgan and Bryonna McClean who are all pulling down rebounds at a high rate.

ICYMI BIG SOUTH SCHEDULE CHANGES
Radford has had four games against Winthrop, High Point, North Carolina A&T and Hampton all postponed and rescheduled. Radford's recently postponed game against North Carolina A&T is now on January 27th at 6 p.m. Radford's road match at High Point has also been moved to February 7th at 6 p.m. while the team will host Winthrop on February 17th at 6 p.m. The previously scheduled game at home against Hampton is still postponed without a make-up date determined.
