Women’s Basketball Selected Fourth in Big South Preseason Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – As announced in the 2022-23 preseason poll by the Big South Conference on Wednesday morning, the Radford women's basketball team was selected to finish fourth overall.

The Highlanders received 55 total points with a majority of their votes selecting them to finish in fourth and fifth place, a tally which is voted on by the league's head coaches. Radford finished behind Campbell who earned 86 points and one first-place vote. The team also finished three points ahead of UNC Asheville who was selected to finish in fifth.

Radford returns six players from the 2021-22 squad which includes big-time minutes earners Rachel LaLonde, Jackie Christ and Carmen Williams. The team will see plenty of new additions to its roster including five transfers and four freshmen.

The 2022-23 season is quickly approaching and will tip-off on Monday, November 7^th on the road against the reigning SEC Tournament champions Kentucky. Conference play will begin at home for Radford when they host UNC Asheville on Thursday, December 29^th. The team's road slate of the conference schedule starts that following weekend with a New Year's Eve battle at Presbyterian.
