SERIES HISTORY
Radford and Eastern Kentucky have only faced off twice in program history, but both instances were games to remember.

The first match-up took place on Nov. 18, 2012 in Kentucky and the Colonels earned an 83-75 win despite an incredible game from Javonte Green. The current Chicago Bulls high-flyer scored 28 points on 11-of-13 shooting and added nine rebounds and four steals for good measure. Ya Ya Anderson (14 points, four rebounds) and Rashun Davis (12 points, five assists) had solid games off the bench.

The Colonels finally made a return trip to Radford on Nov. 28, 2021 – a day that fittingly honored Javonte Green with a jersey retirement. The Highlanders came to play and protected their home floor in an 88-75 performance that included a whopping six players scoring in double-figures.

SCOUTING THE COLONELS
Now in its fifth season under Head Coach A.W. Hamilton, Eastern Kentucky is off to a 5-6 start that isn't entirely representative of how good they've been so far. The Colonels have dropped games to Western Kentucky, Cincinnati, JMU, and #7 Tennessee, but also have a pair of good wins against Georgia State and UNC Asheville.

Junior wing Devontae Blanton (16.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists) leads a high-octane offense that averages 83.5 points per game. Junior forward Michael Moreno (12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds) is one to keep an eye on as well, but it's the team's defense that creates scoring opportunities.

The Colonels rank 13th in the nation with 10.4 steals per game and 15th in all of Division I with 17.18 fastbreak points per contest. EKU crashes the boards hard, leading to 14.1 offensive rebounds a game and they'll kick the ball out frequently, resulting in a huge 11.0 three-pointers on 29.5 attempts per game.

BRYAN ANTOINE: MASTER THIEF
Bryan Antoine has brought a level of hustle and lockdown defense that few expected when the former five-star prospect signed with Radford. Starting all 11 games so far this season, the Tinton Falls, N.J. native swiped a career-high six steals at VCU on Wednesday, helping the Highlanders tally 15 steals as a team – their most since the 2017-18 campaign.

The standout performance brought Antoine's total to 20 steals on the year, tying him for the most in the Big South Conference and 83rd in the nation. His contributions have been a big reason why Radford has the 43rd best turnover margin out of 363 Division I teams.

ROAD WARRIORS
Winning on the road is never easy in college basketball. The Highlanders will play the third of five straight away contests in Kentucky after coming up just short of wins at both VMI and VCU. Although Radford is just 1-5 on the road this season, those five losses have included Marquette, Notre Dame, and VCU and have been by an average of just seven points.
