HIGH POINT, N.C. — Shortstop
David Bryant had three hits, but it wasn't enough as the Radford baseball team fell to High Point 15-5 in the series opener at Williard Stadium on Thursday evening.
Bryant continued his hot hitting from Tuesday's game, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run. The RBI came on the second at-bat of the game, as the senior sent a double to left center that scored right fielder
Avery Spencer, who led off the contest with a single.
Radford (10-23, 4-9 Big South) scored the first two runs of the game in the first inning, as third baseman
Bradlee Preap later drove in Bryant on an RBI groundout.
But it was all High Point from that point out, as the Panthers (12-22, 7-6 Big South) scored 10 of the game's next 12 runs, including a six-spot in the third inning. Cole Singsank led the way for the home team, hitting 3-for-5 with three RBI, including a two-run homer in the fourth that put the Panthers ahead 10-4.
The Highlanders were able to manufacture some runs despite not getting many hits. In the third inning, left fielder
Tanner Barrs drew a bases-loaded walk to put Radford ahead 3-1. Later in the fourth, Spencer had another productive plate appearance, scoring center fielder
Cameron Pittman on a sacrifice fly.
