RADFORD, Va. – Radford head men's basketball coach
Darris Nichols has announced the addition of graduate transfer forward Souleymane "Sal" Koureissi. He will join the Highlanders for the 2022-23 season following four seasons with the Richmond Spiders.
"Sal is a long, versatile forward with a perimeter skillset," said Nichols of the newest Highlander. "He's a veteran that has been a part of some really good teams. We look forward to his arrival to campus as he will be a big addition to our team, university and community."
The Harlem, N.Y. native has played in 93 games and made a pair of starts thus far in this collegiate career, averaging 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. He has tallied 24 steals, 17 blocks, and shot exactly 50.0% from the field on 126 attempts.
Koureissi played his high school ball at Iona Preparatory School where he tallied a team-high 16.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 61.0% from the floor. He was rated as the No. 8 recruit in the state of New York and labeled as a three-star recruit by 247sports.com.
