BURLINGTON, N.C. – A combined score of -10 in the third round scorched the competition as the Radford men's golf team earned a T-3
rd place finish with a late push at the Elon Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday.
Making a huge 15-spot leap up the individual leaderboard was senior
Bobby Dudeck, who shot a 67 in the final round to finish tied for 12
th at 5-under par. The Williamsburg native notched 13 birdies across 54 holes, including six in the third round.
The duo of
Bryce Corbett and
Patrick Gareiss shot 68 and 69 in the third round, respectively, to make a solid jump up the standings as well. Corbett excelled on Par 3's while Gareiss took full advantage of par 5's which both Highlanders tying for 16
th at 4-under par.
Nathan Piatt once again showed that his tough first round wasn't indicative of the high-level golf he's capable of playing, following up a second-round 70 with another 70 in the third round. His performance moved him 13 spots higher on the leaderboard, making a huge difference in Radford's top-3 finish.
Jack Urban closed things out by shooting a 78 on the day.
The Highlanders' -22 on Par 5's was the third-best of any team in the field while their +10 on Par 3's was the fourth-best out of all 16 teams.

Radford plays in one more tournament during the 2023 fall season – the ODU Collegiate. The Monarch-hosted event will be held from Sunday, Oct. 22 through Tuesday, Oct. 24 in Nags Head, N.C.
