POWELL'S POINT, N.C. – The Radford men's golf team moved up one spot into 5th out of 15 teams competing in the 2023 ODU/OBX Intercollegiate after high scores perforated the entire leaderboard on Monday.
 
Bryce Corbett continues his strong play in the tournament, following up a 69 (-2) on Sunday with a 70 (-1) this time out. The senior carded a trio of birdies in the second round, committing just two bogeys and spending much of the day tied for, or alone in, first place.
 
Now tied for 2^nd at -3 overall, Corbett is one of just three golfers in the 76-person field to make it through 36 holes under par.
 
With a six-over par 77 in his second round, Bobby Dudeck dropped into a tie for 28^th. He played well for the vast majority of the day, even birdying the 17^th hole, but double bogeys on the 3^rd, 8^th, and 15^th holes really added up.
 
Patrick Gareiss, on the other hand, took a big step forward with a 73 in his second trip through the course. He matched Corbett with three birdies of his own, moving 11 spots up the standings and into a tie for 32^nd.
 
A team-high four birdies were part of a rollercoaster day for Nicholas Taliaferro, whose Golf Stat scorecard resembles a Christmas tree. Between a number of tough-break results, he went on an absolute tear with birdies on the 8^th, 9^th, 10^th and 12^th holes.
 
Nathan Piatt shaved two strokes off of his first round score thanks to a pair of birdies on the back nine. He's tied for 54^th heading into the final round.
 
Drexel's Drue Nicholas (-4) is the only individual above Corbett on the leaderboard while his team, the Dragons, took a commanding lead in the team standings thanks to a combined +1 on Monday. The next-best team, Robert Morris, had a +9, for reference.
