SERIES HISTORY
Radford and Penn State have met just once in the storied history of both programs and that meeting wound up being a historic one for the Highlanders. On March 15th, 2018, the Highlanders and Nittany Lions met in University Park, Pa. for the first round of the WNIT and it was Radford who would come out with the 63-62 overtime victory to advance.

Four Highlanders reached double figures scoring in the contest including Destinee Walker, Janayla White, Jayda Worthy and Khiana Johnson. The WNIT win was, at the time, the first such win for the Big South since 2013 and still stands as the conference's only WNIT win since 2013. Mike McGuire remains a part of an elite Big South group consisting of just three coaches who have won a WNIT game.

SCOUTING THE NITTANY LIONS
The Nittany Lions enter Wednesday's meeting with a lot to be proud of seven games into the 2023-24 campaign as the program checked in to this week's AP Poll with 16 points good for 29th most in the country. Head Coach Carolyn Kieger has her squad off to its most impressive start in her fifth year at the helm of the program with wins already over Kansas, St. John's, Oklahoma State and Providence. The Nittany Lions also came up just short of up-ending #8 USC last week in the Bahamas falling just short 71-70.

Fifth year senior Makenna Marisa (Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Watchlist) highlights Penn State's offensive efforts so far this year. The team leader is averaging 16.0 points per game and 3.5 assists per game. Sophomore guard Shay Ciezki has been a highlight reel for the Nittany Lions as well averaging 15.6 points per game.

CONFERENCE LEADERS
Ashlyn Traylor-Walker and Terissa Lavoile-Brice turned in impressive performances last week and continue to be leaders in their respective stat categories. With 119 points over seven games, Ashlyn's 17.0 points per game ranks top in the conference with only one other player so far eclipsing 100 points. The freshman Lavoile-Brice continues to be one of the top rebounders in the Big South averaging 8.7 per game and 61 total on the season which ranks second overall and most among any freshman.

MIDWAY POINT ON THE ROAD
The Highlanders are currently in the midst of a six-game road trip with Wednesday's meeting marking the midway point of the stretch. After facing Penn State, Radford will continue north towards Niagara Falls, N.Y. to take on Niagara on Saturday to open the December slate. After the trip to Niagara, Radford will stick much closer to home with visits to Virginia Tech (Dec. 10) and Liberty (Dec. 13).
