Men's Golf Powers Through 36 Holes at Wofford Intercollegiate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team carded a field-best four eagles en route to a 284-288 (+4) across the first two rounds of the Wofford Intercollegiate on Monday.

The Highlanders started extremely strong, settling into a tie for ninth out of 17 teams by the end of a long day. All six players representing the red and white have played five rounds (90 holes) in the last four days in great preparation for the upcoming Big South Championships.

Radford best scorecard on the day belonged to Nicholas Taliaferro, who is tied for 23^rd after going even. The fifth-year player was at -6 through 14 holes to begin the tournament and finished the first round with a 3-under par 68. His second round was a bit more up-and-down, but he ultimately finished with eight birdies and an eagle.

Patrick Gareiss and Nathan Piatt each shot +1 in 36 holes, tying for 31^st. Gareiss posted an eagle on the 5^thhole both times through the course to while Piatt accounted for the team's fourth eagle and was one of the very best on the course on Par 4's with a 4.05 stroke average.

Coming off his runner-up finish at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate this past weekend, Corbett rounded out Radford's scoring with a +2 and is tied for 40^th heading into the final round.

Channing Blevins showed well as an individual with a +4 (T-52^nd) and Bobby Dudeck shot 11-over par to tie for 81^st.

49^th-ranked Chattanooga leads the field at -24 while the Mocs' John Houck carded an incredible 62-67 (-13) to top the individual leaderboard.
