Radford Marches to 7-0 Victory Over Bluefield State

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's tennis program picked up their second straight win Monday afternoon in a dominant 7-0 victory over Bluefield State.

Radford kicked things off with a strong performance in doubles play taking courts one and three to clinch the 1-0 advantage. Demis Taramonlis and Konstantinos Raptis worked with ease in their 6-1 victory on court one. Robert Hagen and Charles Courteau shook off some early rust to come back and win 6-3 on court three. Guilherme Severin and Aditya Balseker were also up 6-5 before going unfinished.

In singles play, the wins continued to come for Radford. Taramonlis was first to finish for Radford making quick work of his opponent in a 6-1, 6-0 win. Raptis was next to finish with a 6-1, 6-0 win on court three to cap off another impressive evening by the Greek duo.

Balsekar was the clinching court for the Highlanders with a 6-3, 6-0 win on court two. Manfredi Vergine got his first action of the season and didn't waste the opportunity, winning in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 on court six. Filippo Marangoni also played higher up on court five and held on to win an intense tiebreaker 6-3, 2-6, 1-0(9). Severin wrapped up the victories on the day with his 6-4, 6-4 win on court four.

UP NEXT
Radford's next match will be a pivotal Big South meeting between two of the top teams in the conference. Radford and Presbyterian have had some epic match-ups in recent years and tomorrow's match set for a 3 p.m. start is shaping up to be another exciting addition.
