SERIES HISTORY
Radford and Longwood will meet for the 45th time in program history Wednesday with the Highlanders owning the 29-15 edge in the series. As of late, however, the Lancers have been dominant winning five straight meetings dating back to 2021. Before that, Radford had won 12 straight meetings. In last season's meeting inside the Dedmon Center, Ashlyn Traylor-Walker dropped 17 points and four assists to lead the team's scoring efforts.

SCOUTING THE LANCERS
The Lancers are coming off their first conference win of the season last weekend 66-57 over Charleston Southern and are much better than the 3-11 (1-1 Big South) record indicates. The Lancers boast one of the best trio of scorers in the conference between Janay Turner (11.6 ppg), Anne-Hamilton LeRoy (10.2 ppg) and Adriana Shipp-Davis (9.3 ppg).

The Lancers' 61.7 points per game leads the Big South. With 152 steals on the season the team also excels in creating chaos on the floor. The same trio of scorers listed above create their fair share of steals, but the team is led by Kiki McIntyre (30 steals) and Malea Brown (25 steals) in the caused turnover department.

BIG COMEBACK
In the Highlanders' conference-opener victory the team earned their first comeback win of the year. Previously, when Radford trailed at halftime the team had a 0-10 record. Trailing by as much as 11 points with seven minutes remaining, the defense posted seven scoreless minutes while the offense caught fire for a 12-0 run to help seal the eventual win.

WEEKLY AWARDS SWEEP (AGAIN)
As announced by the conference office, the duo of Ashlyn and Joi Williams took home the Big South's Player and Freshman of the Week awards this past Monday. It's the second time this season a Radford duo has won both awards in the same week.

Ashlyn guided the Highlanders to victory over High Point with a career-high 27 points thanks to a career-best 5 three-pointers to earn her award. Williams continues to be electric for the Highlanders since joining the starting five with 14 points against High Point tying her career-high as she also set career-bests in assists (6), minutes (33) and steals (4).

MCGUIRE AT HOME
Wednesday marks the 11th home opener for conference play in head coach Mike McGuire's 11 year tenure at Radford. In 95 conference home games, McGuire has posted an incredible 64-31 (.674) record inside the Dedmon Center. Last season, the Highlanders were nearly unbeatable at home posting a 7-2 record against Big South foes on Carilion Clinic Court. Radford had won seven straight home games against Longwood to start McGuire's career, but the Lancers have won the last two meetings in Dedmon in 2022 and 2023.
