PLAY BY PLAY
Back at home for just the third time this season, the Highlanders faced off with the Spartans in their first conference rematch of the season. Neither team was able to gain an edge early as points were traded back and forth.

Tied 14-all, Radford got a 3-0 run thanks to kills from Flanagan, Alana Kolb and Sierra Moore to gain the first advantage of the night. A 4-1 run by the Spartans, however, would tighten things back up at 20-20. The Spartans stayed hot, winning five of the last seven points in the set to earn the first set victory.

Radford, who came into tonight 5-1 in second sets, continued their bounce back mentality. Radford immediately sprinted out to a 7-1 lead thanks to three kills from Flanagan to force an early USC Upstate timeout. Radford would fend off USC Upstate comeback attempt until late in the set when the Spartans went back up 17-16.

Not giving in, Radford got kills from Paspal and Katrina Miller to pull back ahead. Both teams traded points to a 24-24 tie. A kill by Robinson and ace from Slivka would help Radford finish the second set and even the match at 1-1.

After another tight start to set three, USC Upstate would get a late 6-2 run to build their biggest lead of the night at 20-14. Radford wasn't able to recover, and USC Upstate would go back up in the match 2-1 with a 25-15 finish to set three.

Trying to force a fifth set for the second time this season against the Spartans, the Highlanders got off to a rough start in the fourth set as the visitors quickly jumped ahead 7-1. Despite a comeback effort that would pull the match within two points at times, USC Upstate was able to hold on and win the fourth set 25-18 and the match 3-1.
