HOOPS FOR HUNGER
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the Radford women's basketball program is partnering with Bobcat Backpacks this Saturday to help collect donatable food items. Bobcat Backpacks is a program that provides weekend food for children in need throughout Radford City Virginia Schools. Each fan who brings 3 needed items to donate will receive FREE admission to the game against Eastern Kentucky.

Items in most demand during the holiday time are canned chicken, anything microwavable (rice, macaroni, ravioli, etc.), juice boxes and can openers to go with the traditional canned foods, pasta, soups, etc.

ORNAMENT GIVEAWAY
OrnamentGiveaway
To celebrate ringing in the holiday season, the Highlanders are giving away Radford Athletics themed ornaments to the first 100 fans who come to Saturday's game. It's also ugly sweater day inside the Dedmon Center, so fans are encouraged to bring their funniest holiday-themed sweater to the game.

SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Colonels meet for the first time in over two decades on Saturday afternoon. The two squads last met during the 2004-05 campaign in Richmond, Ky. where the Colonels came out on top 52-65. The two squads first met during the 1980-81 season and overall in the series, Eastern Kentucky owns a 3-1 edge.

SCOUTING THE COLONELS
Coming off a 2023-24 season that saw Eastern Kentucky advance to the WBIT, the Colonels are trying to build upon that success under fourth-year head coach Greg Todd. In a competitive ASUN conference, the Colonels were predicted to finish fourth in the preseason coaches poll.

Through five games, Eastern Kentucky has picked up decisive wins over Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri State. Preseason ASUN all-conference selection and fifth-year guard Alice Recanati is leading the team once again this season averaging 11.4 ppg shooting 44% on 50 attempts. The experienced Colonels are also led in scoring by senior Kaitlyn Costner (9.8 ppg) and fifth-year Jasmine McGinnis-Taylor (8.4 ppg).

WILLIAMS SETTING NEW HEIGHTS
Sophomore Joi Williams has been the hot hand for the Highlanders as of late dropping 40 points over her last two games. Against Navy she broke her personal single game record with 19 points and followed that up with another personal best scoring performance against Norfolk State with 21 points. Her nine three-pointers over the last two games are also her most over a two-game span in her young career.
