Women’s Basketball Hosts Final Home Game of Regular Season Wednesday Night

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's basketball program hosts their final regular season game within the Dedmon Center Wednesday night when Charleston Southern visits for a 7 p.m. tip.

SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Buccaneers meet for the 82nd time in program history Wednesday night. In the two squads last meeting, Charleston Southern snapped Radford's 12 game winning streak in the series in a 73-58 final. In that game, Ashlyn Traylor-Walker came off the bench for 22 points backed up by Joi Williams' 10 points marking just the second time in the season Radford's bench outscored its starting five.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
The Buccaneers come into Wednesday's match-up holding one of the conference's weirdest streaks, an undefeated 7-0 record on Wednesday's and inverse 0-7 record on Saturday's. Radford will look to break the winning side of that stretch with the Buccaneers coming off a win against USC Upstate and loss to High Point last week.
The Buccaneers boast one of the better offenses in conference play this season averaging 61 points a game behind big scoring totals from Catherine Alben (14.5 ppg) and Kennedi Jackson (13.8 ppg). Jackson currently leads the conference in shooting percentage at 45.8% on 321 attempts.

TAYLOR'S HOT STREAK
Over Ellie Taylor's last eight games the senior has scored six or more points in seven of those eight contests. Taylor has continued to collect assists sitting at 60 on the season which is second-most on the squad. Over the same eight game stretch, she has 19 assists.

POSTSEASON PICTURE
Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Big South tournament field is still up in the air from the third to ninth seed. High Point has clinched the top seed with USC Upstate also sealing up the two seed. From there, four teams are currently tied up with a 7-7 record with Longwood, Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville all battling to avoid the First Round. Radford's (7-7) opponents this week feature Charleston Southern (7-7) and UNC Asheville (4-11).
