SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders have experienced tons of success through 31 all-time meetings with the Blue Hose, leading the series 22-9. Radford is 9-5 when taking on Presbyterian inside the Templeton Center, losing just one of the last six meetings in true road games.
Radford came out on top in the first meeting of the 2023-24 season, winning 73-58 thanks to a strong defensive effort and well-rounded offensive attack.
DaQuan Smith,
Kenyon Giles and
Bryan Antoine combined for 49 points and nine three-pointers while
Justin Archer and
Josiah Harris pulled down a combined 16 rebounds.
SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE
Success has eluded the Presbyterian Blue Hose over the years, but hope resonated from the very first game of the 2023-24 season in which they went to Vanderbilt and pulled off a major upset.
Now in Quinton Ferrell's fifth season as the Blue Hose head coach, his team parlayed that early season confidence boost into an 8-7 showing during non-conference play. While just 3-7 in Big South play thus far, PC has looked much better as of late, knocking off USC Upstate and Gardner-Webb for wins in two of their last three outings.
As a unit, Presbyterian does have some bright spots, ranking 19th in the nation in bench points per game (29.6), 40th in field goal percentage (47.6%), 43rd in fastbreak points per game (13.64) and 68th in free throw attempts per game (22.0).
Junior guards Marquis Barnett and Samage Teel run the show as a dynamic backcourt duo, averaging 14.4 points/4.3 rebounds/2.6 assists and 12.7 points/2.4 rebounds/2.6 assists, respectively. A whopping 10 different players have started at least one game this season.
DOUBLE THE FUN
When Radford hosted Presbyterian at the Dedmon Center just two weeks ago, it was the program's Alumni Weekend celebration and both the men's and women's teams earned victories in a doubleheader.
To balance out the home/away schedule for all teams, both Radford teams will be making the return trip for another doubleheader in Clinton. The Highlanders (ladies) take the floor at 2 p.m. as they look to set the tone for the men at 4:30 p.m.
