RADFORD, Va. – With the Big South tournament on the horizon, the Radford Highlanders close out the 2023-24 at Dedmon on Saturday afternoon facing UNC Asheville on Senior Day.

SERIES HISTORY
Radford is on a four game losing streak against UNC Asheville with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series, 42-39. However, the Highlanders shine at home for an overall 23-12 record. In their previous matchup on the road, multiple Highlanders hit double-digit points but it was not enough to catch the Bulldogs.
DaQuan Smith led the team with 15 points,
Kenyon Giles was on his heels with 14 points, while
Bryan Antoine had 12 points.
Justin Archer was perfect from the paint and pulled down five rebounds.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
UNC Asheville is seeking back-to-back tournament championships as they have clinched second seed in the Big South standings. The Bulldogs hold numerous first place slots throughout the Big South with fifth year forward Drew Pember leading the Big South in scoring, blocks and defensive rebounds. Pember averages 20.3 points per game. Senior guard Caleb Burgess holds first in assists averaging 4.8% per contest.
As a team, the Bulldogs are first in the Big South in 3 pointers with a 37% success rate. Additionally, they hold first in blocked shots and assists. They are second in scoring offense and field goal percentage.

The Highlanders will be honoring four seniors Saturday afternoon prior to tip-off. These members include
Chandler Turner,
DaQuan Smith,
D'Auntray Pierce and team manager Alex Robson.
ARCHER'S REBOUND SKILLS
Justin Archer is third overall in the Big South when it comes to rebounds averaging 7.7% per game. So far this season he has 224 rebounds with over half of those being defensive rebounds, putting him second in defensive rebounds in the conference. He has achieved a single-game career high with 14 rebounds twice, once in the 2022-23 season and this season against Marshall. Archer stands at 89
th in the nation for rebounds.
