SNOW HILL, N.C. – Shooting +11 as a team over three rounds, the Radford men's golf team placed 10th at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate on Sunday.
ROUND ONE
For the first round of the intercollegiate, the Highlanders finished 12 over par as a team. Leading the Highlanders was Bryce Corbett as he would go and birdie five holes. However, he would record five bogeys leaving him shooting a 72 (E) before wrapping up day one of the tournament.
ROUND TWO
In day two of the intercollegiate the Highlanders would improve upon their first-round finish, only shooting eight over par to wrap up the second day. Patrick Gareiss would be the one to pace the Highlanders as he would be the one to shoot on par as he would birdie two and bogey two holes giving him the score of 72 (E) and leaving the Highlanders at 12th on the leaderboard heading to the final day.
ROUND THREE
The Highlanders would have their best day on the course for the final round as they would finish shooting nine under par as a team. Bryce Corbett and Nathan Piatt would both have their best days as they would both finish round three shooting four under par. Bryce Corbett would birdie five holes and only bogey one. Nathan Piatt would birdie six and bogey two. Bryce Corbett would do the most damage in the Par 5s where he had a 4.58 stroke average. The Highlanders recorded 49 birdies throughout the three rounds, with 24 of those birdies coming on the last day of the tournament alone. Patrick Gareiss would record two eagles on the final day as well as he would record the only two eagles for the Highlanders which would leave them tied second for the most. Gareiss would also finish tie first for the most eagles.
