CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Wednesday afternoon that Sophie Magson has earned Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this season.

The Essex, London native made her 3000m steeplechase debut at the Colonial Relays this past weekend. She came in second place with a time of 10:47.20. This time also earned Magson the second spot in Radford's outdoor record book as well as the fastest time in Big South this season. Additionally, she is 40^th on the NCAA East Outdoor Qualifying List.
Magson and the Highlanders prepare to race this weekend at Duke and UNC Asheville beginning Friday, April 13.
