Sohrabi Earns 300th Career Victory as Radford Downs Mount St. Mary's

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's soccer program picked up their first road win of the season 2-0 over Mount St. Mary's Saturday afternoon thanks to a pair of goals from Helena Willson and Lilly Short. The victory marked a historic milestone for head coach Ben Sohrabi as it was his 300th with the Highlanders.

PLAY BY PLAY
After two impressive home victories last week, Radford kept the offensive intensity rolling into their road match-up today. Through the first half, Radford outshot their opponent 10-4 earning three corners.

In the 26th minute, it was Willson who would give Radford the only goal they'd need in the match. From about 30 yards out, Willson took a pass from Caitlyn Nottingham and left no doubt with an absolute bullet into the top of the net for the 1-0 lead.

Coming out for the second half, the Highlanders kept rolling. Despite a renewed Mount St. Mary's attack that saw four shots come on goal in the half, Radford was able to add another goal to seal the deal. Paige Olson placed a perfect cross that found the head of Short who completed the perfect play to double the lead.

From there, the Highlanders played a stout defense for their eventual third straight shutout. Mount St. Mary's would draw two yellow cards in the 71st and 75th minute as Radford's defense didn't budge for the 2-0 final.
