Women’s Basketball Hosting USC Upstate Saturday

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's basketball program is back inside the Dedmon Center to host USC Upstate for a Saturday tilt on ESPN+.

SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Spartans meet for the 16th time in program history on Saturday with Radford owning the 11-4 edge. Radford won two of three meetings last season including a 61-45 victory to clinch a spot in the 2024 Big South Championship. Sophomore Joi Williams has scored 19 points, 7 assists with 2 steals in three games against the Spartans.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
The Spartans enter Saturday looking for their first conference win after two tight losses to Winthrop and Presbyterian. In a loaded nonconference slate that featured three ranked opponents, the Spartans were led by Rebekah Gordon's 10.4 ppg and Big South leading 9.0 rebounds per game. The Spartans as a whole are one of the best rebounding teams in the conference, outrebounding opponents by a 0.7 margin.

FIREBAUGH AND WILLIAMS CLICKING
Firebaugh and Williams have been the offensive leaders for the Highlanders through conference play so far. The duo has scored in double figures in each of the first two games against High Point and Winthrop with scoring averages that rank within the top-10 among Big South student-athletes. The pairing are also first and second overall this season among the team for scoring at 9.5 ppg (Williams) and 9.0 ppg (Firebaugh).
