SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Buccaneers renew their historic series for its 83rd edition on Saturday afternoon. Radford owns the edge in the series, 62-20, and has won 13 out of the last 14 meetings. A 13-game winning streak by Radford was snapped by Charleston Southern last season, however, as both teams won the games on their home court. In his career against the Buccaneers, head coach Mike McGuire owns an impressive 18-3 record.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
Charleston Southern enters Saturday's meeting coming off a solid 78-50 victory on the home court over Winthrop. The Buccaneers have also defeated Gardner-Webb earlier this season to own a 2-2 record in conference play. In the nonconference, the Buccaneers also collected solid victories over Charlotte, South Alabama and North Dakota State.

Preseason all-conference member Catherine Alben will be the name to watch for the Buccaneers. The junior guard is averaging 14.8 ppg this season while shooting 39% overall from the floor. Transfer Tyonna Bailey has also been a vital add to the team this season as she's averaged 9.1 ppg in 17 games coming off the bench.

CLUTCH TEAM EFFORT
With under three minutes to play against Gardner-Webb, Radford dug deep and got a team effort to seal the eventually thrilling win. The team got big makes, in order, from Adelyn Traylor-Walker, Adriana Shipp-Davis, Joi Williams and finally Cate Carlson. Each of those final four shots gave Radford a lead from either a tied or trailing scenario.

SECOND HALF COMEBACK
After going down 35-31 at halftime to Gardner-Webb earlier this week, the Highlanders mounted their first second half comeback of the season. The eventual 71-70 victory marked the first such comeback since March 2, 2024, at UNC Asheville. That road victory at UNC Asheville was also the last time Radford won a game by a one-point margin.
