Women’s Track & Field sets one PR and one season best at Hokie Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. – With most of the squad on a well-deserved break after a record-setting Virginia Tech Invitational, the Radford women's track & field program had three student-athletes compete at the Hokie Invitational on Friday inside Rector Field House.

The meet featured one personal record and one season best for the Highlanders.

NOTABLES
- Danae Niles took fifth in her heat and 26th overall with a personal best of 7.98 in the 60-meter preliminary round. The showing is ranked in a tie for 14th best in the Big South.
- Kandace McIvor crossed the line in 25th overall in the 60-meter prelims with a season-best time of 9.53. The performance slots in at eighth overall in the conference.
- Makayla Nelson rounded out the evening with an 18th-place finish in the long jump finals with a best leap of 5.14-meters (16-10 ½). She still ranks fourth in the event in the Big South.
 
NEXT UP
Radford will return to the track with a full squad for the VMI Winter Relays that run Friday, January 31 through Saturday, February 1 at the CPTF-Corps Physical Training Facility.
