KEY STORYLINES
Last Time Out: The Highlanders put together one of their best performances of the season for three quarters, erasing an early deficit to throttle Concord, 100-48, on Monday night at the Dedmon Center. Radford outscored Concord 56-14 in the second half, scoring 50+ in the second half for the first time since 2020 (Feb. 18 vs. Longwood). Four Highlanders reached double figures, with Joi Williams leading the charge for 16 points. Radford dominated the glass, grabbing a season-high 57 rebounds. They held the Mountain Lions to a 17.9% shooting percentage in the second half. It was Radford's largest win since defeating Lees-McRae 95-39 on December 12, 2015.

In the Details: With Monday's win, the Highlanders improve to 2-0 vs. non-Division I opponents…6-1 at the Dedmon Center…4-2 coming off a loss…2-2 in games decided by 30+ points…5-1 when leading at half…4-0 when shooting 40% or better…4-0 when outrebounding opponent…5-2 when winning turnover battle…3-0 when scoring 80+ points…4-1 when holding opponent to 59 points or less.

Windows are Clean: Junior forward Anaiah Jenkins logged her first career double-double in Monday's win, scoring 16 points while grabbing 13 rebounds. Ten of those rebounds were offensive. After the explosion of offensive boards, Jenkins has 32 offensive rebounds this season, which is tied for the sixth-most in the Big South. Radford leads the Big South with 519 rebounds and holds the second-most per game average at 39.9 per game.

What a Joi: Junior guard Joi Williams once again reached double figures to lead the Highlanders with 16 points on Monday night. After getting off to a slow start this season, the Big South Preseason All-Conference member is tied for eighth in the Big South with 11.7 points per contest. Williams is averaging 30 points per game this month and shooting at a 51% clip (25-for-49) through three December games. Her 127-career made 3-pointers puts her sixth on the Radford all-time list, just two behind Aisha Foy (2012-16) in the fifth spot.

Everyone Plays: The Highlanders have used eight different starting lineups in 13 games. Radford's leading scorer has come off the bench in nine games. Ten players are averaging over 10 minutes of action per game, and all 14 players have logged in at least a few minutes this season. Williams is the only player averaging over double digits per contest (11.7), while Georgia Simonsen is the only player averaging over five rebounds per game (5.6). All 14 players saw action on Monday, and freshman Lindsee Williams made her first collegiate basket in the fourth quarter.

Chase to 200: Head Coach Mike McGuire added win No. 199 in his collegiate coaching career on Monday. He is trying to become the first coach in Radford basketball history and the sixth in Big South women's basketball history to reach 200 career wins. He became the winningest coach in program history with his 194th win on November 11 in a 59-50 triumph over Loyola Maryland.

Scouting Hampton: The swashbuckling Pirates evidently are not the real HU after dropping a 64-60 contest to Howard last Saturday in Washington. Hampton was picked to finish 11th in the CAA preseason poll. They average 64.7 points per contest with a .373 shooting percentage. Junior Kiki McElrath leads the team with 12.3 points per game, while Kayla Lezama averages 11.8 points despite having only one start this season. Longtime assistant coach Tamisha Augustin is in her second season as head coach of the Pirates. Hampton owns the series against Radford 16-7 which dates back to 1979. The Highlanders won the last meeting 65-55 in the Dedmon Center last season in the home opener on November 7.
