NEW AT THE DEDMON CENTER
Radford Athletics announced earlier this week the sale of beer, wine, and seltzers at men's and women's basketball events inside the Dedmon Center beginning at the men's basketball game against Southern Miss on December 3.
Fans 21 and over will be able to purchase alcohol at two designated mobile locations inside the Dedmon Center to ensure that alcohol sales do not disturb normal concession lines. A release with all the info can be found here.

TEDDY BEAR TOSS
At halftime of the game on Wednesday night, the Highlanders will be hosting their annual teddy bear toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal of teddy-bear size to throw onto the court during the halftime show. The teddy bears will then be collected and donated to children in the New River Valley as a part of Radford's partnership with Carilion Clinic.

A LOOK BACK
The Highlanders and Golden Eagles will meet for the first time in program history for Wednesday night's meeting in the Dedmon Center. The unique match-up is the third such meeting for Radford this season with first-time games also coming against Wright State and Cleveland State. So far this season, Big South schools have a 3-2 record against Sun Belt foes.

JOHNSON'S DEFENSE
Jaylon Johnson has been leading the Highlanders resurgence on the defensive end as of late. The senior has six steals over the last two games at SMU and against Notre Dame of Maryland. On the season, he has 19 steals which rank second most in the Big South and 26th among all Division I players nationally. After helping the team post a season-high 12 steals at SMU, Johnson led Radford's efforts at home against Notre Dame (MD) with another 10 steals. Radford's steals per game now rank fourth-most in the Big South.

DISHING IT AND SCORING IT
Del Jones was quiet for the Highlanders in their last game against Notre Dame (MD), but overall, this season has been one of the better scoring threats in the nation. Through nine games, the sophomore sharpshooter is averaging 15.7 ppg off 49 total field goals made, with both ranking top 100 in the nation. Not holding back to just his own scoring, Jones has been pivotal to guiding Radford's offense as a team. His 31 assists (3.4 apg) are most on the squad and ranks fifth in the Big South.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Southern Miss is currently riding a three-game winning streak and most recently came out champions of the Pensacola Invitational last week after wins over North Florida and UT Martin. Southern Miss has a common opponent with Radford, as both squads faced South Carolina. The Gamecocks came out on top against the Golden Eagles as well, but in a close 79-83 overtime affair.

The Golden Eagles are led by transfer forward Tylik Weeks who is coming off a huge tournament in Pensacola. Weeks scored a whopping 37 points in the win against North Florida with 15 made shots from the floor, followed by an efficient 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting against UT Martin.
