SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Eagles meet for the second time this season after Winthrop took the first meeting 58-65 in Rock Hill, S.C. Overall in the historic series, Radford has a 69-21 edge in the series history, but the two squads have been trading results as of late splitting the last eight meetings 4-4. Last season, Radford took two of three winning at home and in the Big South quarterfinals. During the McGuire era, Radford owns a 16-8 record against the Eagles.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
The Eagles enter Wednesday's meeting with an even 12-12 overall record and 6-5 record in Big South play. Winthrop has split their last six games, alternating wins and loss for a 3-3 record most recently falling 48-52 to USC Upstate. The Eagles' defense has been stifling for opponents this season, only allowing 61.5 ppg which ranks third-best in the Big South.

IGNITING FROM THREE
Radford's three-point shooting has played a large role in the team's recent success. The Highlanders 33.5% (35% in Big South action) from deep this season, a full three percentage points higher than anyone else in the Big South. Joi Williams has led that charge with 47 three-pointers with Cate Carlson (39) and Makayla Firebaugh (33) not far behind. Williams is just eight threes away from cracking into the program single-season top 10 which hasn't seen a new member since the 2021-22 season.

BREAKING DOWN THE WIN STREAK
The Highlanders have vaulted themselves to the top of the Big South standings thanks to an impressive eight wins in their last nine games including the current five-game winning streak. During that stretch, Radford averaged 67.0 ppg, 14.2 apg, 8.9 three-pointers per game and an average turnover margin of +2.4.
