Women’s Basketball Concludes Home Portion of Schedule Wednesday Night

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's basketball program concludes the home portion of their regular season Wednesday night when they host Gardner-Webb for a 7 p.m. tip inside the Dedmon Center.

CELEBRATE DIVERSITY GAME
Radford women's basketball is partnering with the Radford Diversity Awareness Program (DAP) to provide programming and food for all fans in attendance for Wednesday's game while supplies last.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Runnin' Bulldogs meet for the second time this season as Gardner-Webb makes the return trip to Radford, with the Highlanders earning the 71-70 victory in Boiling Springs, N.C. earlier this season. Overall, in the series, Radford has a 21-16 edge in the series history, with Gardner-Webb taking the last six of the last eight games. During the McGuire era, Radford owns a 14-10 record against Gardner-Webb.
 
SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
The Runnin' Bulldogs come into Wednesday's game looking to snap a three-game losing skid, dropping recent games to USC Upstate, High Point and Longwood. Ashley Hawkins is a sure scoring threat for Gardner-Webb as she leads all Big South players with an average 18.5 ppg. The Bulldogs score at one of the higher rates in the conference, but also give up points at a high rate as their opponents are averaging over 70 points a game.
 
FINAL TIME IN DEDMON
The Highlanders are gearing up for the postseason, making Wednesday night's game the last regular season contest inside the Dedmon Center for the 2024-25 season. Radford has defended Dedmon to the tune of a 7-5 record this season going 4-3 against Big South opponents. The Highlanders have hit 63 three pointers against Big South foes inside the Dedmon Center, averaging a round 9 per game.
 
TRAYLOR-WALKER LEADING THE FRESHMEN
Traylor-Walker has stepped up in a big way during her debut season with the Highlanders. Her points and assists both rank second most among all Big South freshmen. Traylor-Walker has shot with great efficiency for the Highlanders shooting 42% overall (best among freshmen) and 38% from three (also best among freshmen).
