DAY ONE RESULTS AND DAY TWO LIVE STATS
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The past few recaps have all started the same, but that's what happens when your squad is on a record-setting start to the season like the Radford women's track & field team is on as the historic indoor campaign rolled on at the opening day of the Liberty Open on Friday.
The Highlanders dropped four all-time top 10 performances and set seven personal bests on the opening day of the two-day competition that features 1,500-plus athletes and 37 different programs.

NOTABLES

Danae Niles had herself an afternoon as she put her name amongst the all-time Highlander greats across two events. She set a personal record with a 7.84 to open her day in the 60-meter preliminary round. Niles then followed it up with another personal-best showing of 25.37 in the 200-meter final. The marks rank her in ninth and tied for sixth all-time in the events in school history. She is also now slotted in at ninth in the Big South in the 60 and tied for fifth in the conference in the 200.

Raichelle Cornelius blazed the track in 25.07 to take tenth overall in a stacked field in the 200-meter final. To go with being a personal record, the time is also the fifth-best all-time. It is also the fourth-fastest time in the Big South so far this season.

Makayla Nelson posted a personal best jump of 5.47-meters (17'-11 ¼") in the long jump final to move into seventh all-time in the event in program history. She remains ranked at seventh in the Big South.

Jaslyne Robinson and
Leah Moye had a strong showing in the 60-meter hurdles prelims. Robinson led the way in ninth overall with a personal-best time of 8.99. Moye was right behind in 19th with a personal record of 9.35, nearly .4 seconds off her personal-best performance in the event from a week ago. The duo is slotted in at 11th and 14th in the conference, respectively.

Jordan Jackson made it seven personal records on the day with her 26.09 in the 200-meter final.

Kandace McIvor claimed sixth overall with a best leap of 1.45-meters (4'-9") in the high jump final.

Mya Rosser finished in the top 10 of the weight throw final in ninth overall with a best chuck of 14.77-meters (48'-5 ¼").
