Women’s Lacrosse Downed by High Point

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's lacrosse team fell to a tough High Point squad 25-7 Wednesday afternoon in their final home match of the season.
PLAY BY PLAY
The Panthers would open Wednesday's match on a 3-0 run before the Highlanders netted their first goal. Evie Gee kicked off the scoring with her 16th goal of the season five minutes into the first quarter.
With two minutes left in the quarter, Gee would score again assisted by Madison Driscoll. The Panthers offense kept clicking, though, and closed the quarter with a 10-2 lead. Radford struck early in the second quarter thanks to Mady Cheney. Cheney would score again on the flip side of the quarter as Radford trailed 17-4 at halftime.
Molly O'Brien would check in for a goal in the third quarter. To open the fourth quarter, Mina Lockhart would drive all the way into Panthers' territory uncontested to score her first career goal. Driscoll would also score a goal before the match came to a close 25-7 in High Point's favor.
UP NEXT
The Highlanders will close out the regular season this upcoming Saturday, April 26th when they visit Gardner-Webb for a 1 p.m. start on ESPN+.
