CLINTON, S.C. – The Radford women's soccer program rolled in their Big South opener Saturday night with a shutout 3-0 victory over Presbyterian.

PLAY BY PLAY
After an extended delay due to weather, Radford and Presbyterian settled in quickly to their match Saturday night. The Highlanders would dominate possession early on collecting a corner kick and two shots before the Blue Hose got their first shot off.

After a few shots on goal, Radford broke through quickly in the 23rd minute. Kertgate was able to secure her first goal of the season, assisted by Loundermon, to give Radford a 1-0 edge which would be all they needed the rest of the way.

In the second half, Radford's offense continued their intensity to create some breathing room. In the 59th minute, Green would contribute a goal to double the lead unassisted. Just a few minutes later, in the 64th minute, Olson piled on also unassisted to push Radford's lead to 3-0.

The trio of goals was more than enough, as Radford's defense was excellent in dispatching any offensive opportunities by Presbyterian. Goalkeeper Lexi Radvanyi and the defensive back line held strong for the shutout, as Radford sealed the road win 3-0.

SOHRABI QUOTABLE
"Tonight was a really good road performance," commented head coach Ben Sohrabi. "Our possession was patient yet effective. I'm really proud of the team to get a shutout to start conference. We were good against their counters and set pieces throughout the night."

UP NEXT
