RADFORD, Va. – The Radford Women's Soccer team and Head Coach Ben Sohrabi has announced another slate full of challenging opponents for the upcoming 2026 campaign. The schedule features 10 home contests for the reigning Big South regular season champions.
THE BREAKDOWN
The Highlanders begin the season with 10 non-conference contests, including a pair of exhibition matches. Both preseason games are on the road, at Campbell (Aug. 5) and VMI (Aug. 9). The 46th season for the program begins at home on Thursday, Aug. 13 vs. Concord.
Radford puts a home record of 40-9-4 over the past six seasons to the test in their second match of the season vs. Charlotte on Aug. 16. This is the first time the 49ers visit Radford in the fourth-ever matchup between the two programs. Charlotte bested Radford 2-1 last season, on their way to a runner-up finish in the American.
The Highlanders take on another tough opponent the following match on Aug. 20 at Tennessee Tech. It's the first-ever matchup between the two programs, as the Golden Eagles enter the season as the reigning Ohio Valley Conference champions.
Returning home on Aug. 27 vs. Emory & Henry, Radford concludes the first month of action on Aug. 30 at UNC Greensboro. The Highlanders and Spartans battle for the first time since they left the Big South in 1996.
Sohrabi's squad concludes non-conference play with three home matches. They take on Navy on Sept. 3 before reigniting their in-state rivalry with Richmond on Sept. 6. Radford takes on ETSU on Sept. 13 to wrap up the non-conference portion of the schedule.
Big South play begins on Sept. 19 as the Highlanders trek to South Carolina for a matchup against USC Upstate. They host Winthrop a week later on Sept. 26, then remain at Cupp for a match against UNC Asheville on Sept. 30.
Radford heads to North Carolina to take on the reigning Big South tournament champions in High Point on Oct. 3. The penultimate home game is set for Oct. 10 vs. Gardner-Webb. A busy road week at Longwood (Oct. 14) and Charleston Southern (Oct. 17) precedes the regular season finale on Oct. 31 vs. Presbyterian.
