Three Highlanders Place Top 10 as Men’s Golf Finishes Runner-Up at The Carolina Cup

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Radford Men's Golf program posted a strong finish competing at the Carolina Cup over the last couple of days and finished runner-up in a competitive field thanks to Kieran McCarthy, CJ Peterson and Louie Stott who all placed top 10 individually.

Picking up where he left off a couple weeks ago, McCarthy led the team and placed tied for third overall individually going 1-under over three rounds. McCarthy was consistent all tournament and kicked things off with a 72 (E) in the first round and followed that up with another 72 (E) performance in the second round. To close things out action on Monday, McCarthy finished strong with a 71 (-1) to finish the weekend -1 overall just three strokes behind the tournament champion.

Peterson also had himself a solid tournament with the Highlanders. Marking back-to-back tournaments as Radford's second-highest finisher, Peterson battled back from a 3-over performance in round one Sunday. On Monday in round two he recorded a 73 (+1) and saved his best for last with an on-par showing in round three to finish +4 and place tied for sixth.

In Stott's first action of the Fall, he made a great first impression finishing just one stroke behind Peterson to finish tied for eighth overall. Stott's highlight of the tournament came in round two when he finished 68 (-4) which was the second-best round by any individual in the tournament.
