Chu Unveils Men’s Basketball’s Nonconference Slate for Upcoming 2025-26 Season

RADFORD, Va. – Radford men's basketball head coach Zach Chu has revealed the program's upcoming nonconference portion of the 2025-26 schedule that includes 10 exciting matchups inside the Dedmon Center

COACH'S WORD
"We are excited to have bult a nonconference schedule that presents many challenges including two ACC, two Horizon League, and one SEC team on the road as well as the opportunity to host last year's CAA Conference Tournament champion UNC Wilmington," commented head coach Chu. "We've provided our players a challenging nonconference and our fans the most home games in school history."

THE BREAKDOWN
After an exhibition with Bridgewater on Oct. 29, where fans can get their first look at the 25-26 squad, the debut season under first-year head coach Chu kicks off inside the Dedmon Center on Nov. 3 against Western Illinois. The season opener will also mark just the second ever meeting between the Highlanders and Leathernecks.

Radford will then battle West Virginia Wesleyan on Nov. 7 before hitting the road for their first action outside of Dedmon when they face ACC foe North Carolina on Nov. 11. Continuing a stretch that lasts four games away from home, the Highlanders will return to White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. from Nov. 15-16 when they compete in the Greenbrier Tip-Off against Wright State and Cleveland State. The tournament will mark Radford men's basketball's return to the resort after debuting college basketball action at The Greenbrier just two seasons ago in a win over Marshall.

Capping off action in the Greenbrier Tip-Off, the Highlanders will visit Columbia, S.C. to take on South Carolina on Nov. 18. Radford returns to the Dedmon Center on Nov. 21 for a premier mid major battle when they host UNC Wilmington. When the Highlanders host the reigning 2024-25 CAA conference champions, it'll mark the 10th meeting in program history and first since 2015.

Radford will make another visit to an ACC foe on Nov. 24 when they visit SMU, home of head coach Chu's last coaching stop. From there, six of Radford's last seven nonconference meetings will come on the home floor.

The long stretch begins on Nov. 29 against Notre Dame Maryland before the calendar flips to December for a meeting with Southern Miss on Dec. 3. The matchup will mark the first meeting in program history between the Highlanders and Golden Eagles. On Dec. 7, Saint Francis makes a return trip to the New River Valley after Radford won last season's battle in Loretto, Pa.

Radford will then host Coppin State on Dec. 14 to in their final of four-straight home games. The Highlanders won't have to travel far for their next road contest, though, as they visit in-state foe William & Mary on Dec. 18.
