A LOOK BACK
Radford and Winthrop have a deep history against each other as founding members of the Big South dating back to 1985. The series history has been equally as deep, with Radford owning a slim 46-43 advantage. The Eagles have taken three of the last four meetings, but neither team has won more than three straight meetings since 2008. In the 2024-25 season, Radford and Winthrop split the season series with both teams winning on their home court.

PAIR OF BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
The Big South conference announced earlier  this week that Radford men's basketball players Del Jones and Frederik Erichsen had earned the Co-Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week awards.

Jones played a large role in guiding Radford to a flawless week in conference play scoring 52 total points in wins at Gardner-Webb and against Longwood. In Radford's thrilling win over the Lancers, Jones had the shot of the day beating the clock with a layup at the last second that sealed the deal in Radford's 85-83 win. Erichsen had a relatively quiet night off the bench against Gardner-Webb before scoring a handful of key buckets in Radford's thrilling win over Longwood.

OUTSHOOTING THEIR OPPONENTS
A key to victory for the Highlanders this season has been outshooting their opponent. Just one of Radford's wins this season came in a game where they were outshot. While three point margin will be important once again on Wednesday night, Radford was able to hang on in their most recent wins against Longwood and Gardner-Webb thanks to big points in the paint from Tyson Brown, Jones, Dennis Parker Jr., and Erichsen. 114 of Radford's 174 points scored last week came from either in the paint or at the free throw line.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
The Eagles enter as one of the hottest teams in the Big South after posting one of the best nonconference performances in the conference as well. After dropping their opener at Longwood, Winthrop as since won five straight including knocking off High Point just last week. In nonconference play, the Eagles picked up big wins over Mercer, Long Island, and a thin-margin loss at ranked Arkansas.

Winthrop has been one of the better rebounding teams in the Big South this season, averaging 42.0 per game. Leading that charge is senior center Logan Duncomb, who is also the team's leading scorer with 17.3 ppg and 8.3 rpg. Currently locked in a tie for first place in the Big South, fifth-year head coach Mark Prosser is hoping to guide the Eagles to their third-straight season finishing in the top four of the Big South.
