A LOOK BACK
Radford and UNC Asheville have a deep history against each other dating back to the early years of the Big South with 84 total meetings. While the series is a tight 44-40 in the UNC Asheville's favor, the Bulldogs have dominated since Mike Norvell took over the head coaching duties. Since the 2018-19 season, UNC Asheville is 8-4 against Radford including six straight wins from 2022-25. Radford snapped that streak at home in a big way last season, downing UNC Asheville 77-53 in their biggest margin of victory against the Bulldogs since 1994.

JONES BREAKING OUT
Capped with tying his career high in points in Radford's last game against Presbyterian, Del Jones has been breaking out over the last five games for the Highlanders. Helping fuel the team's four-game winning streak, Jones has scored in double figures in five straight games averaging 16.8 ppg on 47% overall shooting. Most recently in his 27-point showing against Presbyterian, the sophomore also hit a career-high four three pointers.

IMPORTANT THREE-POINT MARGINS
Three-point shooting has been pivotal to the Highlanders success this season and Saturday's contest will bring Radford's first big test from distance in conference play. UNC Asheville will be the Highlanders first Big South opponent with a sizable difference in the three-point shooting margins with Radford at 34.6% and UNC Asheville at 35.8%.

While Radford shoots at almost the double the rate UNC Asheville does from beyond the arc, the Bulldogs have been efficient and are second in the conference overall for three-point shooting. This season, Radford owns an 8-5 record when either winning or tying the three-point battle, compared to a 0-3 record when losing it. In conference play, Radford is shooting 39.6% from three with opponents shooting 28.1% through two games.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing skid in their most recent Big South action earlier this week, defeating Longwood at home 72-61. The Bulldogs are off to a 1-2 start in conference play, but their opponents have combined for a 6-3 record. In a challenging nonconference slate, the Bulldogs picked up key victories over UNC Greensboro, Appalachian State, and Lipscomb.

Preseason Big South Player of the Year Toyaz Solomon has been as advertised for UNC Asheville averaging 16.8 ppg, but the team has four other players averaging double figures scoring including Justin Wright (17.1 ppg), Kameron Taylor (16.6 ppg), Connor Dubsky (15.0 ppg) and DJ Patrick (10.3 ppg).
