KEY STORYLINES
Last Time Out: The Highlanders put the pedal to the metal in a 95-54 win over Presbyterian at the Dedmon Center on Wednesday night. Shooting exactly 60 percent from the field, Radford led by double digits through most of the game. The red and white had 48 points and continued their scoring frenzy to finish just short of the century mark. Georgia Simonsen had a career night with 24 points on 12-of-16 shooting. Angelina Nice just missed joining Simonsen with 20+, adding 19. Joi Williams scored her 1,000th career point and totaled 18 as the Highlanders swept the Blue Hose in the season series.

In the Details: Wednesday's win puts Radford at 11-4 in Big South play, alone in second place…11-7 coming off a win…5-4 in games decided by 30+ points…17-2 when leading at half…13-0 when shooting better than 40 percent…16-1 when outshooting the opponent…5-7 when opponent shoots 40 percent or higher…13-0 when outrebounding opponent…14-2 when having more free throw attempts…12-6 when making more three-pointers…12-6 when winning turnover battle…15-2 when winning points in the paint…5-0 when scoring 80+ points.

Crank it Up to 1,000: Joi Williams became the 25th Highlander to score 1,000 career points in the win over Presbyterian. Needing 15, she got 1,000 at the free-throw line in the second quarter and added three more to finish with 1,003 career points. While still needing over 200 points to crack the top 10 in program history, Williams' 72 made three-pointers this season are the third-most in program history. She needs three more to surpass Ayana Avery's 74 during the 2014-15 season for second-most. In her career, Williams has made 171 three-pointers, 10 away from passing Patrinda Toney for the third-most in program history.

Simonsen Says: Freshman Georgia Simonsen added another signature performance to her resume after dominating Presbyterian last night. She led all scorers with 24 points, missing just four of her 16 attempts, and scoring more points than minutes played. Counting only conference games, the Fairfax native leads the Big South in field goal percentage (.576) and blocks (19). At the moment, Simonsen is one of just two Radford freshman to average in double figures in the Mike McGuire era, with the other being Ashlyn Traylor-Walker's 13.1 ppg during the 2022-23 season.

Team Milestones: The Highlanders' 211 made three-pointers are the second most in a season in program history and trail just last seasons' mark of 232. This year's team holds the record for most attempts at 699 (679 last season).

A Look Back: The Highlanders took down Gardner-Webb 53-38 back on January 14 in the Dedmon Center. Williams led the Highlanders with 21 points, hitting five trifectas in the win. The contest was a defensive slug fest, as both Radford (33.3%) and Gardner-Webb (28.1%) shot well under the 40 percent mark. Radford held their opponents to just 13 points in the middle quarters, and no Runnin' Bulldogs scored in double figures.

Rising and Defending: The Highlanders have allowed just 57.1 points a game in conference play, the second-best in the Big South (behind High Point's 55.6 pag). Radford also boasts the second-best opponent field goal percentage in the Big South (.369) and have the third-most blocks on average (3.27).

Nothing but Net: After scoring 92 against Charleston Southern and 95 against Presbyterian, the Highlanders have scored 90+ against Division I opponents for the first time since March 7-8, 1996. The 1995-96 squad beat UNC Asheville 98-65 in the quarterfinals and Charleston Southern 93-75 in the semifinals on their way to a Big South Tournament championship. Radford also accomplished the feat last season on December 20 against UVA Wise (96-54) and December 29 against Bluefield College.
