2013 Highlights
Was 7-4 with a 4.01 ERA in 15 appearances, all starts ... Friday starter in the RU rotation ... Led the team in victories ... Struck out 56, walked 23 throughout the season ... Racked up a season-high 6 strikeouts 3 different times ... Pitched a shutout in 8.0 innings against Marshall with 3 hits allowed ... Did not walk a batter in his final 3 appearances (18.0 innings) ... Tossed a complete game win at Liberty in the Big South Tournament giving up just 1 earned run without a walk and striking out 4.

2012 Highlights
Saturday starter for the Highlanders … Finished the season with a 3.81 ERA (85 IP) – he owns the third-lowest career ERA in school history (80 innings or more) entering 2013 … One of six Radford pitchers, all-time, to win seven games in a season …  T-4 in the Big South in wins … Pitches to contact – only struck out 39 batters in 85 innings … Won seven of his first eight starts, including a streak of seven straight (March 4 – April 14) … at the time his win streak ended (ND at Winthrop – April 20), only two other pitchers in the country had won more consecutive starts than Costello … Had a scoreless streak of 26 1/3 innings (UNCG – March 4 through Coastal Carolina – March 30), which was the third-longest in the country for the 2012 season …  During that stretch, made three straight scoreless starts of seven innings or more … Made his collegiate debut with a start in the second series game against Samford (Feb. 18) ... went four innings in a no-decision ... Earned his first win in the series finale at UNCG (March 4), allowing a run on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings ... Got his second win in as many starts with a career-long eight shutout innings, throwing 98 pitches in the series finale vs. Bryant (March 11) … Became the Saturday starter and earned his third straight win with 7 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits vs. Marist (March 17) … struck out five on 104 pitches … Was efficient in eight scoreless innings against UNC Asheville, throwing just 93 pitches – did not issue a walk … Earned his fifth consecutive win, scattering nine hits over six in the second series game against then-No. 25 Coastal Carolina (March 31) ... shutout streak ended in the top of the 1st of that game ... Allowed only one earned run on six hits in 7 1/3 innings in a victory over High Point (April 7), keying a doubleheader sweep … Lowered his ERA to 1.50 (ranked 22nd in the nation at the time) after allowing a run on five hits in seven innings against Fairleigh Dickinson (April 14) … Struck out a career-high six over 5 2/3 innings against Campbell (May 12), but took just his second career loss … Struck out four in four innings in his only relief outing of the season in the second series game against Liberty (May 18) ... Big South Presidential Honor Roll student
