Saturday starter for the Highlanders … Finished the season with a 3.81 ERA (85 IP) – he owns the third-lowest career ERA in school history (80 innings or more) entering 2013 … One of six Radford pitchers, all-time, to win seven games in a season … T-4 in the Big South in wins … Pitches to contact – only struck out 39 batters in 85 innings … Won seven of his first eight starts, including a streak of seven straight (March 4 – April 14) … at the time his win streak ended (ND at Winthrop – April 20), only two other pitchers in the country had won more consecutive starts than Costello … Had a scoreless streak of 26 1/3 innings (UNCG – March 4 through Coastal Carolina – March 30), which was the third-longest in the country for the 2012 season … During that stretch, made three straight scoreless starts of seven innings or more … Made his collegiate debut with a start in the second series game against Samford (Feb. 18) ... went four innings in a no-decision ... Earned his first win in the series finale at UNCG (March 4), allowing a run on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings ...
