Attended Roswell High School in Roswell, Ga. Under the guidance of head coach Brooke Magnuson, she helped the lead the Hornets to the 7A playoffs each year of her career. She went 44-20 during her time in the Peach State, as she was a varsity starter all four years. She joins the Radford lacrosse program having scored 111 career goals to go along with 48 assists. She was named a 2020 Under Armour All-American and was tabbed  to the US Lacrosse National Tournament Team three times. She also was selected as a DiVarsity All-Star in 2021 and 2022 and was named the DiVarsity All-Star Game MVP in 2022.

Wheatley proved herself in the classroom, earning induction into the National Honor Society.
