Biography

2015
All Big South Second Team... One of two Highlanders to start all 18 games... Led team in shots and shots on goal and was second among field players in minutes... Was eighth in the conference in shots... Scored goals against East Tennessee State and Campbell... Logged 90 or more minutes in nine games... Also earned Big South All-Academic Team honors.

2014
Started all 19 games ... Had 33 shots while posting a .576 shots on goal % ... Scored two goals and had three assists ... Scored her first goal of the season against Southern Virginia ... Tallied two assists in a win over Charleston Southern ... Found the back of the net again in a 5-1 win against Longwood.

2013
Started in 17 of her 20 appearances... Scored two goals on 14 shots (five on target)... Tallied one assist... Found the back of the net against Liberty and Delaware State... Lone helper came against Gardner-Webb.

2012
Big South All-Freshmen selection… Set up Rachel Conway’s game-winning goal in Big South Championship match… Three goals, including game-winner in 1-0 Big South Quarterfinal win over Campbell… Only freshman to play in every match for the Highlanders… First collegiate goal against High Point and also scored against VMI.

HIGH SCHOOL / CLUB
Garnered all-region honors... Also lettered in track & field... Helped Triangle FC to a 2011 SuperY summer leageue national championship... Earned all-academic honors as a senior.

Asyia Jaliece Mitchell is the daughter of James and Valerie Mitchell... Public relations major with a minor in marketing... Has two older daughters; Andrea and Ashley... Andrea was a four-year member of the University of Kentucky's gymnastics squad (2008-11) and Ashley is a cheerleader at Tennessee Tech... Father played football at Central Arkansas... High school and club teammate of fellow classmate Maddy Bisantz.
