Men's Basketball Heads to Lynchburg for Televised Contest with Liberty Saturday

HIGHLANDER HITS
- Radford will begin its third of four three-game road trips this season with a 7 p.m. tip at Liberty Saturday.

- Tomorrow night's contest will be televised on MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network).

- The Highlanders have won three straight road games, something that hasn't been accomplished since the 2005-06 campaign. The last time Radford strung together four consecutive wins away from home was 10 years ago, when it reeled off six straight.

- Radford is off to its best start in Big South play since recording a 12-2 conference mark during the 2000-01 season.

- The Highlander trio of Joey Lynch-Flohr (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax), Art Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus) and Kenny Thomas (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs) rank 12th (14.0 ppg.), 13th (13.8 ppg.) and 14th (13.2 ppg.), respectively, among league scoring leaders.

- Parakhouski's 10.2 rebounds per outing places him T-16th nationally.

- Junior point guard Amir Johnson (Pittsburgh, Va./Quaker Valley) continues to lead the Big South in assists per game with a 5.3 average. Johnson is just two steals shy of moving into 10th on Radford's all-time list.

- As a team, Radford leads the league or ranks in the top three in the following categories -- Scoring margin (3rd/+2.4), field goal percentage (3rd/.458), field goal percentage defense (1st/.402), 3-point field goal percentage defense (3rd/.323), rebounding offense (1st/39.1), rebounding defense (T-3rd/34.3) and rebounding margin (1st/+4.8).

- Liberty, which has won four straight, enters 14-6 overall and 5-3 in the Big South following a come-from-behind victory at High Point Tuesday. Trailing by nine points with 2:10 left, the Flames scored the game's last 14 points to hand the Panthers a 61-56 setback.

- Offensively, the Flames are led by Seth Curry, who is the nation's top-scoring freshman at 20.3 per contest. Preseason Big South Player of the Year Anthony Smith, is right behind Curry with an 18.9 clip.

- Radford will enjoy a six-day break from action before traveling to Gardner-Webb for a 7 p.m. contest Saturday, Jan. 31. The Highlanders will conclude their trip at Winthrop on Feb. 2.

- The two teams met twice a year ago with the home team coming out victorious on both occasions.

- Despite dropping three of the last four meetings with Liberty, the Highlanders hold a 30-22 advantage in the series.

- Radford is just 8-19 against the Flames in Lynchburg, but has only dropped three of the 24 meetings at home.

- The Highlanders' last win at the Vines Center came on Jan. 7, 2006.
