HIGH POINT, N.C. – Janay Whittaker's goal in the 83rd minute propelled High Point to a 1-0 win over Radford in Big South women's soccer on Monday night.
The Panthers (3-13-1, 2-4-1 Big South) fired 24 shots towards the goal against the Highlanders (8-9-0, 5-3-0), who were playing in back-to-back games for the first time this season following a weekend weather postponement. Sophomore goalkeeper
Lisa Lubke (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) made seven saves on the eight tries High Point put on frame.
Whittaker broke through with time winding down in regulation, scoring on a shot from 18 yards out off the left side post to give the Panthers the lead and win.
Radford wraps up the regular season on Friday with a 12:30 p.m. game at VMI.
