HIGHLANDER HITS

- Riding a school record eight-game road winning streak, Radford can clinch the 2008-09 Big South regular season title with a victory Saturday afternoon at VMI. The televised (MASN) contest is scheduled to tip at 4 p.m.

- The Highlanders enter 16-10 overall and 13-2 in the league following a 70-61 win at Charleston Southern Monday evening.

- To go along with the second longest road spurt in the nation (UConn - 9), the Highlanders have won seven straight and 12 of their last 13.

- Radford's eight consecutive wins away from home is a Big South record.

- Radford is attempting to become the first team in league history to win the regular season title after finishing seventh the previous season.

- The Highlanders have won three regular season titles since joining the Big South in 1985-86. The last time Radford claimed the tournament's top seed was in 2000-01, which was also its last season with at least 17 wins.

- A win Saturday would set a school record for conference victories in a campaign and tie the standard for road triumphs in a season (1978-79).

- Radford, which is also on the eighth longest winning streak in the nation, is looking to string together eight straight for the first time in 20 years.

- As a team, Radford leads the Big South in rebounding margin (+5.1) and field-goal percentage defense (.397) and ranks second in field-goal percentage (.457), three-point field goal percentage defense (.317) and blocked shots (4.23).

- The Highlanders have won three of the last four meetings at Cameron Hall.

- Art Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus), who currently ranks 10th nationally in rebounds per game (10.9), upped his team-best scoring average to 15.3 per contest thanks to his 29-point effort Monday at CSU. The 6-11 junior is on pace to become just the fourth player in Radford history to average a double-double.

- VMI, which has dropped its last two, comes in 20-6 overall and 11-4 in the league after a 63-57 setback at Presbyterian Monday.

- Chavis and Travis Holmes lead the Keydets offensively with scoring averages of 21.9 and 19.6 points per game, respectively.

- Radford will return to the Dedmon Center for its final homestand of the regular season beginning with a 7 p.m. contest Wednesday evening against High Point.

SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday afternoon's meeting is the 29th all-time with Radford holding a 15-13 advantage.

- Radford is 9-3 at home and 6-10 on the road against the Keydets.

- In their last meeting, despite a 55.6 percent shooting effort from Radford, VMI knocked down 13 buckets from long range to earn an 87-72 victory in a first-place battle and the re-opening of the Dedmon Center on Jan. 21 in front 3,066 fans.

- VMI used 10 of its 13 threes to take control of the game in the opening 20 minutes, including four long balls in the game's first eight minutes to erase a 13-0 deficit.

- Joey Lynch-Flohr (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) led the Highlanders with 19 points on 8-of-8 shooting, while senior Kenny Thomas (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs) and sophomore Chris McEachin (Norfolk, Va./Norview) each contributed 10 points.

LAST TIME OUT
- Art Parakhouski scored 20 of his season-high 29 points in the second half to lead Radford to a school record eighth straight road win, 80-71 over Charleston Southern Monday at CSU Fieldhouse.

- Parakhouski, who was one of three Radford players in double figures, missed just two of his 11 attempts from the field and finished 11-of-16 from the charity stripe en route to his fourth 20-point effort of the year. Joey Lynch-Flohr and Amir Johnson contributed 16 points each for the Highlanders. Johnson, who went the distance also made all six of his free throws and handed out six assists.

- Charleston Southern began the second half on a 9-3 run, with all nine points coming from Omar Carter, including a pair of threes to cut the deficit to 45-38. Highlighted by a pair of three-point plays and seven free throws, Parakhouski scored the next 13 points for RU to stretch the margin back to double digits.

- Jamarco Warren's trey with 2:07 remaining made it a six-point contest, 72-66, but that's as close as the Buccaneers would get the rest of the way as Radford drilled all eight of its attempts from the charity stripe down the stretch.
